Calm open water along a rocky shore at dawn

Seawater and marine heat-exchange engineering

The site's distinctive advantage: the sea carries the heat through sealed exchangers, and the water circuits never mix.

What the project needs

Seawater absorbs heat through sealed titanium plate heat exchangers. The AI campus uses a separate, closed coolant loop. Heat passes between the circuits, but the water never mixes. Dry coolers provide back-up.

An inland 100 MW data centre can use around 2 million litres of freshwater daily. Setupuram is designed to avoid using potable water for primary cooling. The project takes the marine studies and coastal permits forward and offers the marine build to marine contractors.

Who it suits

Organisations working in:

  • Marine and coastal engineering
  • Seawater intake and outfall design and construction
  • Titanium plate heat exchangers for seawater
  • Marine and bathymetric survey
  • Dredging and marine construction
  • Biofouling and corrosion control

How it connects to the campus

Environmental and coastal consultants set the intake and outfall locations.
Cooling and thermal equipment supplies the exchangers and pumps.
EPC contractors takes the marine works as a separate package.
Risk, insurance and resilience covers coastal and cyclone risk.

What to show

At registration, tell us about up to three comparable assignments, completed or in operation, with the year, location, your role, the scale in the measure that fits your discipline, the status and a way to verify it. Newer specialist firms are welcome to present documented pilots and the founding team's record, clearly labelled.

Operational open seawater intake and outfall references, flow and temperature envelopes, biofouling and corrosion controls, pumping head and power, marine permissions, environmental monitoring and fallback. Coastal references are required.

How to take part

  1. Register your interest

Tell us about your organisation and your area of interest.

  2. A conversation

We will arrange a confidential discussion to explore fit and opportunities.

  3. The data room

Selected organisations will be invited to a data room with further information.

Selected organisations receive, through the data room, the marine scoping, the study terms of reference and the thermal design basis for their discipline.
